Game for Practicing Appositives
By Mary Ann Rechtfertig
In this hands-on game, students sit around a game board in small groups of two or three players. They take turns drawing a card and reading aloud the two short related sentences.
To proceed toward the END, players must correctly combine the sentences into one sentence, using an appositive. (Example: Amanda, an excellent gymnast, had the crowd cheering wildly.)
To the Teacher: Print out one copy each of the game board and game cards for each small group. Cut apart the game cards, and place them upside down on the game board. 1. Game Board Template (in Microsoft Word) To move along the game board, each player needs a game piece. |
